Visioning Retreat

January 3-4, 2025

Hello my Visioning Retreat dears,

This page is dedicated to our sacred little moment in time together. Thank you for trusting me, each other and yourself through this process.

Two things:

  1. Please share feedback on this experience by January 31.

  2. To be in touch with each other, add your info to this spreadsheet and simply reach out to one another!

My gifts to you:

Big love,
Annie

p.s. I won’t keep this page forever, but at least through June. If I remove it or make changes to how it’s accessed, I’ll let you know.

Retreat Recordings

Day 1: January 3, 2025

Purpose: Clarify your vision

We did this by (a) reflecting on 2024, (b) clearing up what freedom would be in our lives right now, our current values and priorities, and what we want to do by the end of our lives, then (c) thinking about what we want our lives to be about, and therefore 2025.

Guiding Question: What do I want my life to be about?

Homework: Be with this statement, fill in the blanks as answers come to you, revisit again and again, allow it to reveal and shift into truth.

The vision I have for my life includes [ ]. I feel myself becoming [ ], so this year I really want [ ] and will surprise myself by [ ].

Video replay below:

  • It’s 2 hr 37 min, unedited.

    • First 58 minutes we grounded and reflected on 2024

    • Next 40 minutes we cleared with 3 primary exercises

    • At 1:39, we took a 10 min. break and I paused the recording

    • At 1:41, we focused on what we want our lives to be about (this was profound for many of you per the messages you sent and the after party conversation)

    • At 2:04, we set intentions for 2025, this is the key activity for setting self up for day 2

    • 2:20-2:30 we were in small groups, though you can hear me and Haley in the main room. :)

    • 2:31-2:37 we went over the statement above and how to approach it.

Day 2: January 4, 2025

Purpose: Focus and plan

We did this by a) sharing revelations from the massive unearthing we did on day 1 — what realizations, ahas or curiosities emerged over night?, (b) getting honest with ourselves about what goals, wants, dreams are no longer ours to carry, in order to get (c) very clear about what we want 2025 to be about, so we could (d) figure out what we are going to then do this year, (e) got clear on what would happen when, (f) arrived to a pillar structure for the goals that would be focused on each quarter, (g) identified our obstacles and how to deal with them, and (h) figured clear, specific actions and decisions that we're going to make.

Guiding Question: Based on what I want my life to be about, what do I need 2025 to be about?

Homework: Share one or more of your goals with someone you trust.

Video replay below:

  • It’s 3 hr 32 min, mostly unedited.

    • First 18 min we arrived and grounded into day 2

    • From 18-1:25 we shared realizations, ahas and curiosities after day 1

    • 1:26-1:52 I shared my philosophy on goals vs. ideas vs. visions to drill down to what you want this year to be about

    • 1:52-2:06 we Mind Wandered on what we want to do/accomplish in 2025

    • 2:06-2:17 we identified Themes & Buckets to make all we want to do more manageable

    • 2:17-2:38 we Narrowed down priorities, ultimately landing on pillar goals for each quarter of 2025

    • 2:38-2:51 we identified Benchmarks for each of our Q1/Jan-Mar goals

    • 2:51-3:10 we identified Actions & Decisions for our Q1 goals

    • 3:10-3:18 we shared publicly in the chat one goal and benchmark to increase the likelihood of accomplishing it by 62%

    • 3:18-3:32 I shared data behind goal accomplishment (Dr. Gail Mathews study), as well as my research to close the 24% gap

Tools, Tips & RECOMMENDATIONS

  • On directionality of drawing circles and spirals (borrowed from Wendy MacNaughton):

Louise Bourgeois [known for her spirals] said the movement of drawing a spiral outwards creates an experience of ‘giving, and giving up control, trust and positive energy.’ While drawing a spiral inwards experienced ‘a tightening, a retreating, a compacting to the point of disappearance.’” This is less specifically about clockwise vs. counterclockwise, as was raised today, but certainly related.
